Spirit vs Flesh

All arguments should be investigated, confirming what’s false, incorrect, or if someone is wanting to be an instigator. The Judaizers in Galatians were spreading false information, they caused disruption in the church instead of being led in truth by the Spirit. Galatians 5:15 says, “If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.” Not all disagreements are wrong, but they can turn wrong once you begin to devour each other over anger and petty differences in opinions. Step back, pause, and say to yourself, “Whoa, take a breather.” Pivot from anger and let the fruit of the Spirit win. Don’t act as a wolf who is only thinking about his hunger and willing to start an unneeded fight, attacking the poor little bunny just bouncing around. We need to  put the Spirit first in love, not having a selfish attitude to devour others. If you let the flesh gain control, you will sin in your anger.

Believers are to walk in the Spirit, as it gives us the answer of how to stop letting  our human self take over in Galatians 5:16, “I say then, walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” Let the Spirit take control. By doing so your zest for life will change and begin to live with Christ’s guidance and His Spirit as the leader to direct your life.

The Gift that Stays

Before Jesus’ death fulfilled the law, we had to follow Old Testaments laws laid out in Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers.  Galatians 4:1 says,  “Now I say as their heir, as long as he is a child he does not differ from a slave, tho he is master of all.”  Having many laws, which all Jews had to abide in, makes it all work work work.

Non-believer don’t have any restrictions, on the other side, believers obey a set of laws to show their faith, that they have the gift of life, hallelujah! We have an extremely merciful God who sent a solution for life only offered to believers, not by works lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:9). Now there’s  justification and growth by sending his son Jesus to die for us, saving each believer as it says in Galatians 4:4 “But when the fullness of time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law.” The old law served it’s purpose, now we can grow in the magnificent blood of Christ saving us from death and the laws. We don’t save ourselves, life is a gift from God.
