Don’t be an Eeyore, Look Like You’re Having Fun

 

As believers, we are called to be good examples to non believers. Being  inaccessible about God to either your unbelieving spouse or acquaintances in your everyday life is not the right method to live by. Don’t sound like Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh who says,  “okay if I must”, rather, encourage people by living a godly life. 1 Peter 3:1-2 says, “In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the good news, your godly lives speak to them without any words, they will be won over by observing your pure and reverent lives.”

Put a smile, even if you’re just doing some house work, this will show others the joy you get from the Lord. Just as Jesus submitted to His Father by dying on the cross, we also must submit to our God, not being reluctant or obstinate. By doing this we will be good example to others, showing them the love we receive from God.

Strike That, Reverse That

 In this world, not of this world, this is how Christ’s believers need to be. Not wearing an astronaut suit so you’re not breathing “bad” air, but living a life that exemplifies Christ to nonbelievers. Don’t live like the world by only looking out for yourself but live centered around Christ.  1 Peter 2:10 says, “Once you were not a people. But now you are the people of God.” Now that you are centered around Jesus don’t compromise with the world and live selfishly thinking that you are all that matters. Strike that, reverse it, make Christ the only One who matters. Choose not to let yourself be contaminated with this world, be in it but not of. “Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts…having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles…” 1 Peter 2:11-12 We’re to live in this world, but not be of this world.
